James Oche greets Ado workers on May Day

PRESS RELEASE ON THE OCCASION OF 2017 WORKERS DAY
Comrade James Ogaba Oche, PDP Chairmanship hopeful for Ado LGA has congratulated all workers at the local government level, on the occasion of this year’s WORKERS DAY celebration.
Comrade James Oche who received a cross section of workers at his country home, Apa-Agila, on Sunday 30th April, described the Nigerian working force as the catalyst for growth while workers at the grassroots are the hub of national development.

Dr. Lee who spoke extensively in a lecture-like presentation, was full of passion particularly as the plight of local government staffs and primary school teachers seems to be the worst in the face of the so-called economic recession.
He lamented a situation where workers are being used like animals and treated like slaves, urging the government at all levels to be more proactive and accord more human face to their dealings with the workers at the lower level of society.
Dr. Lee further said, the local government administration as the closest to the people has a lot do in ameliorating the sufferings of this critical sector of the economy.
He promised that on assumption of office, no matter how small, his administration will put in place a welfare programme for this sector to provide a little succour in such terrible times as now.
He said this year’s theme is very apt and a wake up call for all government functionaries to rise to the occasion and ensure that the workers are not the only ones to bear the burden of economic recession while political office holders are thriving in affluence.
The workers in their response thanked the comrade leader whom they described as a compatriot and a nationalist, promising to throw their full weight behind his ambition, irrespective of party affiliations.
Signed
Gideon Obande
