Jaya drops new single ‘Don’t Tell’, music video

Nigerian artist and songwriter Jaya is making waves with the release of his much-anticipated single and music video, ‘Don’t Tell.’ Released under Disruptive Label and distributed by Dapper Music, this marks a major milestone in Jaya’s rapidly growing career, both in Nigeria and internationally.

With ‘Don’t Tell,’ Jaya introduces his AfroGlobal sound—a vibrant fusion of Afrobeat and Dancehall—through a captivating undercover love story. The track and its visually stunning video highlight Jaya’s ability to seamlessly blend vulnerability with a confident, charismatic persona. Ahead of the release, Jaya secured a global publishing deal with Prescription Songs and Disruptive Label Publishing. David Johnson, known professionally as Jaya, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter renowned for his unique blend of Afrobeats, Dancehall, R&B, and Pop. Drawing inspiration from artists like Fela Kuti, Wizkid, Drake, and Chris Brown, Jaya’s diverse style captures the essence of Africa. His musical journey began as a church drummer, evolving into a talented singer from a young age.

Beyond his singing career, Jaya is a prolific songwriter, having worked with notable African artists such as Asake, RunTown, Tiwa Savage, SkiiBii, and Spinall. His collaboration with Rob Jua, an African-American music executive he met via Instagram, led to his signing with Disruptive Label. Jaya has also contributed to Da Baby’s upcoming album “Jonathan” and is working on records for Rihanna, Oxlade, “The Lion King 2” soundtrack, and several top Nigerian acts.
