Jennifer Madueke: Police redeploys DPO who lost gun after alleged office sex in Lagos

Lagos State Police Command has redeployed Denton Divisional Police Officer in the Ebute Metta, CSP Adegoke Atilade following his missing service pistol after alleged office with one Jennifer Madueke.

It was reported that Atilade arrested 29-year-old Madueke over his missing gun and transferred her to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, after detaining her for three days at the Denton Police Station, Ebute Meta, Lagos.

The Command’s spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu, in a statement on Friday said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough probe into the case.

According to PUNCH, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said a new DPO will resume at the station anytime from now.

Ajisebutu, however, did not disclose the new place of assignment of the embattled officer.

The embattled police officer, who confirmed losing his pistol, however, insisted it was taken by Madueke, who he claimed also stole N50,000 from him.

Meanwhile, the Command has ordered the redeployment of the officer for an investigation into the matter.

The Command’s statement was titled, ‘Alleged Theft Of Service Pistol, Sex In Office: Lagos CP Orders Thorough, Unbiased Investigation’.

It read, “This is to inform the general public that the Lagos State Police Command is not oblivious of the reported case of theft of service pistol against one Jenifer Madueke ‘f’ and the allegation of sex in the office against DPO Denton Police Division, CSP Adegoke Atilade as published on page 4 and 5 of today’s edition of the Punch.

“In the interest of fairness and justice, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an independent, thorough and unbiased investigation into the case.

“Members of the public are hereby assured that appropriate actions will be taken against anyone found culpable at the conclusion of the ongoing investigation such that at the end, justice would have been served.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has directed immediate redeployment of the officer in the eye of the storm so as to pave the way for diligent and unbiased investigation.”
