Mr. Joe Abuku, a spokesman of the Benue All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime, has strongly refuted media reports purporting that Jime was intercepted with cash at his polling unit.
Describing the reports as “flat out incorrect”, Mr. Abuku said, “we are not aware of any arrest or incident as described in these reports.
“Mr Jime, arrived his North Bank 001 polling unit at a few minutes past 9am, got accredited and proceeded to cast his vote in company of his wife.
“Done with the voting process, he granted a series of media interviews, including a live (Channels) TV appearance and immediately left for his North Bank, Makurdi residence with no incident outside the usual cheers from supporters.”
According to EFCC, it intercepted two bags full of cash allegedly meant for vote buying at North Bank Area, Markudi, the Benue State capital.
