Jime’s running mate: APC confirms narrowing down search to Akoh, Ode, Igbago, Alapa as deputy governorship candidate
According to the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, the search for whom becomes the deputy governorship candidate to Emmanuel Jime has been narrowed down to four persons.
Among those penciled down for the position are: Amb. DrDickson Akoh, Dr. Sam Ode, Hon. Ralph Igbago and Hon. Nelson Alapa.
He said in a terse statement below.
Please ignore rumors that the party has settled for someone as Jime’s running-mate in the forthcoming general elections.
I can confirm that the search for the next deputy governor of the State on APC platform has been narrowed down to Otukpo local government council areas only as it is clear that Oju/Obi, Ado/Okpokwu & Ogbadibo Federal constituencies have had the slot for eight years each.
Otukpo is enjoying its first term on the seat and since Barr. Emmanuel Jime seems to be coming for a single term (to complete the remaining one term of incumbent Governor Samuel Ortom before it moves to Zone C in 2023), it is best practice to also allow Otukpo to complete their eight years as the State’s number 2 henchman.
Apa/Agatu Federal constituency and others will take their turn in 2031 after Zone C must had the governorship seat from 2023 to 2031.
So, the search for who deputizes Jime has been narrowed down from 13 to 4, which are Amb. DrDickson Akoh, Dr. Sam Ode, Hon. Ralph Igbago and Hon. Nelson Alapa.
Though in politics, 24 hours is too long for changes to take place, as it stands now, these are the calculated pinpribadem on the political meiosis of our dear Benue.
Between now and weekend, since submission of candidates’ names and their aspirants to INEC elapse on November 2nd (for Governorship and State Assemblies), we hope the most favoured in this gimmicks will be announced.
