Joe El, Magnito, Chudy K, Ice Prince, Obi Cubana, others storm Mark D’Ball 2022

The Mark Sports Foundation (MSF), Promoters of the Annual Mark D Ball Basketball Championship, have kick started activities towards the successful hosting of this year’s event. Interestingly, this year’s edition will be hosted in Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja for the first time.

This annual event which often features male and female basketball teams drawn from Nigeria and other West African countries also incorporates a Kiddies coaching clinic that draws hundreds of young children to the event to learn the rudiments of the game.

The Executive Director, Mark Sports Foundation and Initiator of Mark D, IGOCHE MARK in a chat with media men in Abuja, revealed that this year’s edition, having been improved from a tournament to a championship will be bigger and better than previous editions. The young sportprenueur has given an insight into the entertainment package for this year’s event to include music, dance, drama, pageantry and comedy. The Championship is billed to feature the very best of artistes, actors, actresses, comedians and celebrities thrilling fans to nonstop moments of unforgettable fun.

IG Mark has also revealed that Artistes, Entertainers and celebrities expected at the 2022 Championship will include 2Face, Joe El, Magnito, Chudy K, Ice Prince and Mark Owie. Others are Obi Cubana, Nedu Wazobia and Big Smart. From Big Brother we shall have Nini, JMK, Jackie B, Princess and Alex while others will be announced in due course.

To this end, lovers of basketball, music and general entertainment are enjoined not to miss out as this year’s event promises to be a star-studded event and serene family relaxation rendezvous for all.

The opening ceremony of the Mark D Ball Basketball Championship is scheduled for Saturday 15th January, 2022 at Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, FCT by 4PM. The Female Championship shall commence on the opening day and will last till 22nd January when there will be a joint closing ceremony of the female championship/Opening ceremony of the male championship which shall last from the 22nd of January to the 23rd of April, 2022 at the same venue. As an improvement from previous editions, we have 16 female and about 20 male teams participating at this year’s tournament.

The Organizing Committee for this year’s event has worked hard to ensure that we have an eventful, hitch-free, memorable and unforgettable championship. The Overriding goal of the Founder/Initiator has always been to give back to the society, take youths off the streets and have them meaningfully engaged.
