John Shaibu Onche named ‘Global Icon of the Year’ by Stakerrs
Ace philanthropist and motivational speaker, John Shaidu Onche has added another feather to his cap.
Onche, an engineer who doubles as ‘hear surgeon’ by passion by passion was last weekend crowned the Icon of the Year at the just concluded Stakkerrs Global Icon Awards.
Receiving the award at the event that took place at Landmark Event Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, a visibly elated Onche described the laurel as a big boost and catalyst to his career.
He said, “I am deeply honored to have been selected as the laureate to accept this award as the ‘Icon of the Year’ by Stakerrs.
“I should confess that I was a bit wordless when I learned about my nomination. Without false modesty, I feel that other nominees were also worthy of this laurel.
“However, I realize that it can’t be divided into ten, so again I want to express my gratitude to you. I am very pleased to receive this award.
“I think this is real success. And today’s award is the symbol of that success.
“I am very pleased to have received this award and this would surely serve as a boost to my career.
“Thank for your choice and for your trust in me. I will do my best to justify your trust and contribute to the growth of the society.
As the French man would say, “Le meilleur est à venire.” (The best is yet to come).
