Joseph Egbunike: 10 things you need to know about the late police DIG

1. Joseph Obiajulu Egbunike was Deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge of the Force Criminal Investigations Department.

2. Egbunike hails from Onitsha, Anambra State.

3. He served the Nigerian Police Force for 33 years

4. He was a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with B.sc (Hons) Accounting

5. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons.), B.L. and a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) and PhD in Criminology.

6. Joseph is an astute financial manager and an apostle of good corporate governance. He is happily married and blessed with children.

7. Latte DIG Joseph Egbunike headed the panel that sat and indicted disgraced Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari in the Hushpuppi fraud saga, although his report was reportedly rejected.

8. He was rumoured to have resigned moments after the INGEPOL,

9. Usman Alkali Baba pulled him out as supervising DIG coordinating the last Anambra election.

10. According to reports, Egbunike died on Tuesday, after he slumped in his office, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
