Journalist who exposed Suswam’s pig scandal, Hir Joseph is dead


One of the sages of investigative journalism, Comr. Hir Joseph is dead.

He was the one who discovered the comic and criminal importation of Pigs from University of Iowa to Benue by a Special Advisor on Agriculture. He was consequently attacked leading to his transfer by Daily Trust to Lafia.

While in Lafia, he exposed some kleptocratic practices under the government which led to his being beaten to stupor by suspected political thugs on Democracy Day on May 29th, 2015.
He was moved from Lafia to Jos as the Zonal Bureau Chief of Daily Trust. He graduated from Benue State University.
