Idoma-born Super Eagles legend, Daniel Amokachi, has expressed joy after Turkish fans opened a restaurant in Germany and named it after him.
Daniel Amokachi was one of the best forwards during his active playing time considering his styles of play in all the teams he played for and the Super Eagles. The 48-year-old started his football career on the streets of Kaduna before being given the chance to join Ranchers Bees in 1989 from where he moved to Club Brugge. Amokachi was impressive while playing for the Belgian giants as he featured in 81 games scoring 35 goals before he left in 1994.
After leaving Club Brugge, the Nigerian star moved to Premier League side Everton and played 43 games scoring 10 goals for the English club.
Daniel Amokachi moved to Turkey in 1996 where he joined Besiktas and played 77 games for the Turkish giants netting 19 goals. He won the Turkish Cup in 1997/98 with Besiktas and also registered his name in the history books of the club as the first African to do so.
According to the information Daniel Amokachi provided, the restaurant is in Hanover and he thanked those in charge for the honour given to him.
Before he retired from football, Daniel Amokachi won the 1994 Nations Cup with Nigeria, he played 44 games for the Super Eagles netting 13 goals.
