The Otukpo Local Government council Chairman, Rt. Hon. George Alli has led the family of slain Okopi Omaga and a group of youths to His Royal Majesty, Chief John Elaigwu.
Recall that the teenager (Okopi Omaga) was killed and set ablaze after he was accused and arrested from his home at Otiya “G” by a group of proscribed security outfit (Vigilante group) for attempting to steal a motorcycle.
The lad was reportedly killed on his way to the Police Station through a mob action after he was mistaken for the killer of an Okada man who was robbed and killed earlier that day, Saturday 23rd April.
Hon. Alli consoled the family of the victim and equally assured them of making sure Justice is served.
In the same way, HRH, John Eimonye also condoled with the family over their loss and appealed to them to be calm and anticipate the law to take its course.
However, His Royal Majesty, Chief John Elaigwu after receiving Hon. George Alli at his Palace further went down to Otiya and paid a condolence visit to the father of the deceased in person in company of the Chief Okochi, the First Class Chief of Otukpo/Ohimini and Chief Baba Odangla, the First Class Chief of Apa and Agatu.
Chief Elaigwu also consoled Pa. Already, the case is before the commissioner of Police and the Governor himself, we will all see to it and make sure that justice is served.
” Again, as a unionist I’ll make sure the police do not rest, especially the Otukpo DPO and Area Commander until they do the needful. This must not happen again in my kingdom,” he assured.
