Adanma Luke, the producer of the tragic movie, broke her silence on her Instagram page, sharing her perspective on the incident. She disclosed that she was initially supposed to be on the boat that capsized and recounted the surreal experience of learning about the loss of several crew members.
Luke revealed that Junior Pope was offered a life jacket, which he declined due to its condition. She expressed deep sorrow over the loss of those who perished, considering them as part of her extended family, often collaborating with them on projects.
Feeling devastated by the accident, Luke blamed herself for being present at the filming location instead of being in Lagos. She emphasized the close bond she shared with the crew, describing them as her family who would travel from Asaba to work with her in Lagos.
In the wake of the tragedy, the Anambra Police Command announced the arrest of the boat operators. Luke, voluntarily cooperating with the authorities, provided her statement, while other members of the movie’s cast and crew are expected to be questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
