Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is set to travel to London for negotiations with Chelsea over a potential deal for Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.
As the 2023-24 season approaches, Juventus is keen to make progress in the transfer market, prompting Giuntoli to leave the club’s pre-season tour in the United States and return to Europe.
With Inter giving up on signing Lukaku this summer, Juventus and Saudi Arabian clubs are now the main contenders for the Belgian striker’s signature.
Calciomercato.com has revealed Juventus’ plans to pursue Lukaku, with the club willing to make a move for him regardless of whether they can sell Dusan Vlahovic. The Italian side aims to secure Lukaku on a loan deal with a permanent transfer option.
In the coming days, Giuntoli will personally travel to London to hold face-to-face talks with Chelsea to expedite the transfer process.
Lukaku appears to be surplus to requirements in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Chelsea and is expected to leave the club during this summer transfer window.
