Kaduna: Many killed as bandits strike in Anguwar Dankali, Zaria community

A devastating bandit attack in the Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria, has left at least five people dead and several others injured. The incident occurred around 11 pm on a Friday night in the Anguwar Dankali community.

ASP Manir Hassan, the acting Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, confirmed the attack and provided details. He stated that the bandits arrived in the community in large numbers, firing indiscriminately to create fear among the residents.

During the attack, five individuals who were sitting outside their homes were shot and killed by the bandits. Additionally, seven women were abducted and taken to an unknown location.

In response to a distress call, the police pursued the bandits, ultimately rescuing all seven abducted women on Saturday morning. One of the bandits was arrested, while the others managed to escape with gunshot wounds during the operation.

The Kaduna State Police Command also reported the arrest of 10 suspected kidnappers in various operations across the state between September and October 3. The suspects were paraded at the command’s headquarters, and the police seized multiple dangerous weapons, including three AK-47 rifles, three fabricated revolvers, 448 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm live ammunition, and other exhibits.
