Kaduna: Police rescue 23 kidnapped victims

The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued 23 kidnapped victims from suspected bandits in Kajuru Forest, Kajuru Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson DSP Mansir Hassan said in a statement on Sunday that security operatives launched the rescue operation on February 2, 2025, after receiving intelligence on armed bandits’ movements.

Led by the Divisional Police Officer of Kajuru Division and military personnel, the operatives advanced into the bush near Doka Village, where they encountered the bandits attempting to relocate their captives.

During the confrontation, security forces inflicted heavy casualties on the bandits, forcing them to flee into the forest with gunshot wounds.

The rescued victims, previously reported missing in Kauru, have been reunited with their families.

Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad commended the operatives for their bravery and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to security. He assured continued collaboration with the military and other agencies to combat crime.
