Kano police conclude investigations, says Hisbah commander arrested for sleeping with married woman in hotel not guilty

There was uproar on social media last week after a top commander of Hisba was spotted inside a Hotel with a married woman.

The issue has sparked controversy, especially among those who have expressed dissatisfaction with the Hisban’s activities in the state.

A called was made for the Kano state government to take action against the officer who was arrested by the police and was insisting of not guilty.

However, the Kano State Police Command has conducted their investigation and found out that the accused officer was not guilty of the charges leveled against him.

The Kano State Police Command has acquitted a Hisban officer of allegedly seeing with wife at a hotel.

The force made this known through its spokesperson DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa who stated that ”

We are convinced that it was this girl who was being harassed by her husband that caused her to come out and try to enter the barracks.

The accused officer only came to her and tried to keep her in someone else’s house, which was later picked up by the owner, who said there was a place for her to be kept since it was a VIP hotel.

The officer was told that she had been taken to the hotel and when he heard this, he bought some food and went to the hotel to give it to her. We were on patrol when we heard a movement that we did not trust and we collected it.

It was only later that we did some research and found out that it was almost ‘outside’ and that it was her husband who had thrown her into a trance. “Trying to get women into prost-itution has helped to ensure that she is kept out of the barracks,” said Haruna Abdullahi Kyawa.
