Nigeria’s football icon, Nwankwo Kanu, has officially begun his new role as the Chairman of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Enyimba. The former Super Eagles forward was recently appointed to this prestigious position by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.
Kanu’s appointment marks a significant moment for Enyimba, as he takes over from the long-serving Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who held the position for over two decades. The nine-time NPFL champions are now under the stewardship of a football legend known for his illustrious career, both on the domestic and international stage.
In his first day at the helm, the former Arsenal forward wasted no time in getting down to business, meeting with club officials to discuss the club’s strategies and future plans.
As the new Chairman, Kanu will lead Enyimba into the upcoming season of the CAF Champions League, where they will compete against some of the best clubs from across the African continent. With his wealth of experience and leadership, the former Super Eagles captain is expected to bring a fresh perspective and a winning mentality to the team.
