Bandits have killed Aliyu Yahaya, a member of the Hunters Association of Nigeria (HAN), in Magamar-Jibia town, located in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State. The attackers not only took his life but also set his body and home on fire, before kidnapping members of his family and three neighbors.
Aliyu, a 31-year-old volunteer security agent, was reportedly overpowered and killed by the bandits when they invaded his home. His brother, Salisu Yahaya, recounted how the assailants murdered Aliyu and burned his body in his room. During the raid, the attackers also abducted Aliyu’s wife, son, and three neighbors.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the tragic incident, stating that an investigation is underway to apprehend the culprits and rescue the kidnapped victims.
The brutal attack has caused outrage among local residents, who are urging the government to take swift action to address the escalating insecurity in the region. Community members are also appealing for immediate efforts to rescue the abducted victims, as their families and the entire community endure the trauma of the incident.
Community leader Alhaji Sani Salisu attributed the attack to the lack of security personnel in the area and called for an increased security presence to prevent further tragedies.
