Katsina: Man arrested for attempted ritual killing of 10-year-old
The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended a 20-year-old man suspected of trying to kill a young boy in a ritual-related incident.
Sources reported that on February 22, around 7:30 p.m., Aliyu Ashabu, a self-proclaimed traditional healer from Kuidawa Village, widely known as “Boka,” allegedly lured 10-year-old Alhassan Usman into a nearby bush before pushing him into a well.
The boy was rescued the following day by a passerby and taken to General Hospital Katsina, where he was treated for multiple injuries.
Police investigations led to the arrest of Ashabu, who reportedly admitted to the act, claiming he intended to prepare charms for an individual named Khalid, who is still being sought by authorities.
The matter is still under police investigation on charges including culpable homicide, unlawful ritual practices, and cultism.
