Kelly Hansome walked out of Imo State Forum meeting organised by APC America
Kelly Hansome, a US-based singer, was escorted out of the Imo State Forum meeting organized by the All Progressive Congress (APC), America chapter on Sunday. A video of the incident has been trending on the internet, showing the musician expressing his discontent with events in their home state of Imo.
In the video, Kelly Hansome can be heard saying, “We are not going to vote for Hope Uzodinma.” This statement led to his removal from the meeting by the police.
Addressing the altercation on his Instagram page, Hansome accused certain politicians in Imo State, including Senator Athan Achonuwere, of attempting to suppress his freedom of speech. He stated that practicing such suppression in a country that respects human rights is a foolish move.
Kelly Hansome further explained that he was invited by Senator Atan to join the Imo State forum, which was apparently organized by the APC to canvass for another four years of what he referred to as “failure to do the needful.” He clarified that his intention was to speak out on the insecurity issues in Imo State and hold those responsible accountable.
He expressed disappointment that instead of acknowledging the government’s failure in addressing the security challenges, they tried to silence him. He emphasized the importance of coming clean about their shortcomings and finding solutions rather than trying to deceive the people.
