KICC pastor, Matthew Ashimolowo quits preaching after 40 years, starts real estate business

After dedicating more than 40 years to spreading the message of Christianity, seasoned Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the visionary behind Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), has embarked on a new career path in the realm of real estate, as reported by The Will.

In a notable transition, the renowned televangelist has retired from his full-time commitment to Christian ministry and has transitioned into the realm of real estate, making his mark as one of the prominent landowners in Lagos.

Despite beginning his journey in real estate at the age of 27 with the acquisition of a modest plot of land, Pastor Ashimolowo’s ventures have since flourished. He has expanded his real estate holdings to encompass an impressive 900 acres of land in the Mowe region of Ogun State. This expanse has been developed into six distinct estates. Furthermore, his portfolio has extended to include additional land parcels in the coastal area of Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.

Pastor Ashimolowo’s property ownership extends to several holdings within the prestigious Pinnoch Estate in Lekki, Lagos. His own residence boasts a lavish and technologically advanced mansion. Moreover, he has secured numerous acres of land scattered across various locations in Lagos.

The pastor’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident through his ambitious project known as Makarios Luxury Properties. The Makarios estate is positioned to become one of Lagos’s most illustrious luxury developments, aspiring to rival the opulence of Dubai Marina. Spanning a substantial 95 acres of land, the estate has captured the attention of affluent individuals who are acquiring service plots within its premises.

This visionary estate, being constructed in collaboration with a German company, will feature striking 10-floor high-rise buildings, an impressive collection of 192 terrace houses, and 18 detached residences upon completion. Pastor Ashimolowo has designated nearly 300 land parcels within the luxurious estate for sale.

While a dedicated pastor manages the Lagos branch of his church, the stewardship of the London branch and headquarters is overseen by his first son, Tobi, reflecting a dynamic continuation of his family’s commitment to leadership and service.
