Four Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirants Wednesday picked their nomination and express of interest forms to contest the Kogi state governorship election stated for November 16.
The latest entrants added the number of aspirants who had so far collected the PDP governorship form from the state to 21.
The three aspirants AVM Saliu Atanwodi, Alhaji Mohammed Shaibu Tetes, and Dr Victor Adoji are from the Kogi east senatorial district, while Mr Bayo Adobanyi Averehi hails from the Kogi central senatorial district.
Addressing journalists separately at the PDP national Secretariat in Abuja, they promised to re-build the state if they emerge the next governor, adding that the state is in a state of total dispair.
On his part, AVM Saliu Atanwodi promised to focus on human capital development and education if he emerges the next governor of the state, adding that he would also improve on the security of the state.
He said: “Kogi state is a state of dispair, and a lot of things need to be addressed. There is a very high rate of insecurity in the state. The state is very endowed and I will make it to be admired by all.
” My cardinal areas if I become the governor is to focus on human capital development and education. Also, I will improve the security situation in the state.”
Also, Alhaji Mohammed Shaibu Tetes said the state was collapsing, saying that he was in the governorship race to rescue the state.
