The winner of this highly anticipated election will succeed the incumbent, Yahaya Bello, known as the “White Lion,” as he concludes his constitutional two-term tenure and gracefully exits the Luggard House.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed a list featuring 18 candidates from diverse political backgrounds, all set to compete in the state’s November 11 election.

The battle lines are drawn, marking a competitive landscape.

From the pool of 18 contenders, three individuals have emerged as primary front-runners vying for the state’s highest position. Notably, Usman Ododo, supported by the outgoing governor Bello, representing the All Progressives Congress, Muri Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, and Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party, stand as the leading contenders.

The election is expected to witness substantial participation, with an estimated 1.8 million registered voters shaping the state’s future leadership.
