The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has cleared the air on the report that he was planning to step down from the 2023 race.
Kwankwaso also debunked the rumours that he was planning a merger with the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Addressing journalists in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Sunday, the NNPP presidential candidate insisted that the report of an alliance with other parties was rubbish.
According to Kwankwaso: “Some people are terribly mischievous and I don’t see how any of these four political parties at this critical time will accept joining one another.
“Some elements are making mischievous postings and insults on social media, but we believe in sportsmanship, and we are out for a good campaign.
“To say NNPP will join or withdraw for APC or PDP is absolutely rubbish; it can’t happen.”
