Labour Party tears Peter Obi apart for attacking Tinubu

The Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party has issued a strong rebuke against the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for his recent criticisms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In response, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party faction, Abayomi Arabambi, accused Obi of still being in the “euphoria of 2023 Presidential Election defeat shock.”

Arabambi criticized Obi for engaging in what he termed as “destructive criticism” of the Nigerian State, particularly on the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.

He accused Obi of employing a style of “deceptive politics” by presenting fictitious figures and unfounded indices on national issues.

The factional leader argued that Obi’s comments on the federal government-sponsored delegation to Dubai and the Walk Free Organisation Global Slavery Index Reports of 2023 revealed a lack of understanding of global issues and an attempt to assassinate the character of President Bola Tinubu.

Arabambi urged Nigerians to conduct their research and seek first-hand information instead of relying on what he called “falsehood.” He emphasized that Obi’s statements were based on lies, fake indices, and data, designed to deceive the public.

The statement clarified the actual findings of the 2023 Global Slavery Index Reports by the Walk Free Organisation, which ranked North Korea as the country with the highest rate of people experiencing modern slavery.

Arabambi asserted that Nigeria was adjudged to have minimal cases of modern slavery and criticized Obi for not conducting thorough research before making public statements.
