Lagos Assembly rejects two of Sanwo-Olu’s cabinet nominees, confirms 15

The Lagos State House of Assembly has declined to approve three out of the eighteen cabinet nominees put forth by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for screening and clearance.

Fifteen cabinet nominees were successfully screened and confirmed by the state lawmakers, including former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, who had previously faced rejection but was presented again by the governor for a second round of clearance.

Among those rejected during the final clearance by the assembly were former Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Sam Egube, who had been rejected in the initial list presented by Sanwo-Olu, and former Commissioner for Energy, Engr Olalere Odusote, who faced rejection for the second time.

During a session presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, the lawmakers decided to defer the confirmation of Hon. Tolani Sule Akibu for a later date.
