Abiola lamented that both his money and personal items were taken by the hoodlums. He mentioned that the attack lasted between 20 and 30 minutes, with no security personnel intervening.
He recounted: “I boarded a BRT bus from Mile 2 heading to CMS. When we reached the Odunade bus stop, we saw a crowd gathering and some people marching toward the Orile bus stop. They were reportedly heading to the Orile police station to confront officers who had raided motorcyclists around the Odunade-Coker area.
“As we continued, the crowd grew larger. By the time we reached the Alafia bus stop, in front of the NNPC fuel station, some individuals began smashing the BRT bus windshield and windows. They took my bag and phone, and threatened to stab me with a Trophy bottle if I resisted.”
Abiola has since gone to the Orile police station to file a formal complaint. Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stated that he does not yet have details about the incident.
