Lagos State Assembly rejects 17 out of 39 commissioner nominees by Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos State House of Assembly has chosen not to confirm 17 out of the 39 nominees for commissioners and special advisers presented for screening by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Only 22 of the governor’s choices for cabinet positions received confirmation from the Assembly.

Notable individuals among those not approved include Gbenga Omotoso, who previously held the role of Commissioner for Information and Strategy; Prof. Akin Abayomi, the former Health Commissioner; and Sam Egube, the former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, among others.
