Lagos: Four dead in fire outbreak at Olodi Apapa Lounge and Bar

The Lagos State Police Command has reported that four individuals lost their lives in a fire outbreak at a lounge and bar on Baale Road in the Olodi Apapa area.

In a statement released on Monday, police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stated that the fire ignited around 7:45 a.m. on Sunday.

Hundeyin mentioned that the Tolu Police Division received a distress call following the incident.

He noted that the victims, whose identities are yet to be confirmed, were burned beyond recognition in the blaze.

“According to reports, police and fire service teams were quickly dispatched to the scene, and they successfully extinguished the fire through their combined efforts,” the statement indicated.

The remains have been transferred to the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Morgue in Yaba for autopsy.

The cause of the fire and the extent of property damage are still under investigation, with inquiries ongoing.
