The Association of People with Achondroplasia and Other Skeletal Dysplasias in Spain has announced plans to take legal and public action against FC Barcelona forward, Lamine Yamal, over his choice of entertainment during his recent birthday celebration.

Yamal, who turned 18 on July 13, reportedly hired individuals with dwarfism to entertain guests at his party, a move that has drawn strong condemnation from advocacy groups.

In a statement published by Spanish outlet AS, the association expressed outrage at what it described as the “use of people with dwarfism for entertainment purposes,” calling the act discriminatory and demeaning.

“The Association condemns the involvement of people with dwarfism for entertainment purposes at Yamal’s celebration and will take legal and public action,” the group said.

The organization emphasized the need for greater sensitivity and respect toward individuals with skeletal dysplasias, warning against practices that reinforce harmful stereotypes or reduce people to spectacles.

Yamal, who played a key role in Barcelona’s LaLiga and Copa del Rey successes last season under manager Hansi Flick, is currently one of the most talked-about young talents in Spanish football.

Reports suggest he may inherit the iconic No.10 jersey, once worn by Lionel Messi, ahead of the new season.
