1. The Benue State Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Sam Ode, has appealed to members of the party in the state with pending court cases against the party to withdraw the suits in the interest of the party and its supporters.
He also appealed to the aggrieved members to embrace the reconciliation effort of the party that would help heal the wounds of members to enable them work together as a family.

2. President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to give his approval to Governor Samuel Ortom and his South-West counterparts to procure arms for the Benue Community Volunteer Guards, BCVG and “Amotekun” to bolster security in their states.

The Coalition of Southern and Middle Belt Youth Leaders Assembly, COSMBYLA, said Buhari should dismiss reports that BCVG and Amotekun would misuse arms at their disposal if allowed to bear weapons.

3. Deputy Governor of Benue state, Engr Benson Abounu, has commended the efforts of Dominic Iorfa-led Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, which reversed the relegation that stared the club on the face in the just concluded 2021/2022 premier league season.

Engineer Abounu, who described Iorfa as a football genius Benue has produced, charged the club not to relent, until it wins the current edition of AITEO Cup competition.

4. Twenty-four percent of children in Benue State have stunted growth despite its status as the Food Basket of the Nation.

This was disclosed by a UNICEF nutrition specialist, Mrs Ngozi Onuora in Makurdi on Thursday.

5. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday, met with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi; and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in London.

Wike attended the meeting with his allies including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State; Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, among others.
