Benue Assembly Suspends Teachers’ Recruitment Exercise
The Benue State House of Assembly has ordered the immediate suspension of the primary school teachers’ recruitment exercise being conducted by the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (BSUBEB).

The Assembly also summoned the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba, to appear before its leadership on Tuesday to address concerns over the recruitment of individuals with non-professional degrees in education who scored as low as 25% in the aptitude test.

BSUTH to Partner with Pharmaceutical Companies for Enhanced Service Delivery
The Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi, is set to collaborate with pharmaceutical companies across the country to ensure a steady supply of drugs, consumables, and reagents.

This was announced on Thursday by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Stephen Hwande, during a one-day stakeholders’ meeting on effective drug and consumables supply held at the BSUTH Conference Hall, Makurdi.

Rep. Philip Agbese Accuses Governor Alia of Frustrating Constituency Projects
Deputy spokesman of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has accused Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, of hindering developmental projects in his constituency.

Agbese, representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, made the allegations in a letter to President Bola Tinubu, which was also copied to Vice President Kashim Shettima and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.

Benue Government to Partner with CSOs to Combat Gender-Based Violence
The Benue State Government has pledged to collaborate with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the state.

Governor Hyacinth Alia, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Paul Biam, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to creating an environment conducive to minimizing human rights abuses while receiving a draft communiqué from CSO stakeholders in Makurdi.

Governor Alia Denies Targeting Lawmakers Loyal to SGF George Akume
Governor Hyacinth Alia has dismissed reports alleging his administration is working against lawmakers loyal to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

Through his Technical Adviser on Media Publicity and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, Governor Alia refuted claims by the group Alliance for Good Governance that accused him of withholding constituency allowances and official vehicles for certain lawmakers.

Benue Assembly Confirms Board Members for Assembly Service Commission
The Benue State House of Assembly on Thursday screened and confirmed members of the Assembly Service Commission.

Mrs. Ngohemba Agaigbe, a former representative of Gboko East during the eighth and ninth assemblies, was confirmed as the chairman of the commission. The screening and confirmation occurred during plenary in Makurdi.
