1. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday struck out a suit instituted by a former Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue, Mr Michael Aondoakaa (SAN).

The suit was challenging the emergence of Reverend. Father. Hyacinth Alia as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2023 governorship election.

2. A man, Clement Ukertor, and his wife, Christiana and their 17-year-old daughter, Dooyum, were Tuesday reportedly murdered on their farm by suspected herdsmen in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
It was gathered that aside from the murdered trio, the marauders also inflicted machete injuries on their 20-year-old daughter, Blessing, who is fighting for her life in a private hospital.
3. Benue Coalition for Democracy, BCD, has accused some bigwigs in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of sponsoring thugs to attack and disrupt Governor Samuel Ortom’s senatorial campaign rally in the state.
It was gathered that hoodlums suspected to be political thugs attempted to disrupt the Benue North West Senatorial Campaign Flag-off organized by the PDP in the Gboko Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.
4. The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rt Hon. Titus Uba, doused political tension in the State when he announced that he was hale and hearty and ready to join the campaign train for the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Uba’s assurance came following weeks of apprehension over the health condition of the Benue State Speaker and PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 elections.

5. Amidst funfair and excitement, Exponent Distilleries Limited, producers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, has unveiled its brand, Oyi Bitters, in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.

Speaking during the Oyi Bitters media unveiling of the product on Wednesday, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr Desmond Edwin, said that Oyi Bitters is entering the market with uncommon gusto.

6. Two suspected criminals have been arrested by policemen in Benue State.

The suspects were arrested along Ogbadibo/Otukpo federal highway early hours of Wednesday.
