1. The All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Benue South in the 2023 election, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, has congratulated Dr. Sam Ode on his emergence as the party’s 2023 deputy governorship candidate for Benue State.

In a statement he personally signed on Saturday, Onjeh also congratulated all the party’s other personable contenders for the position of deputy governorship candidate in the state, saying it was time for the genuine stakeholders to forge unity and heal the wounds of the past towards ultimately ensuring the victory of the party in the 2023 polls.

2. Dr. Ushakuma Anenga has emerged the new chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Benue State chapter.

Anenga defeated Dr Terna Dennis-Gav to emerge as chairman in the just-concluded election of the Benue State chapter of NMA for the 2022 to 2024 tenure.

3. Two All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmakers in the Benue state House of Assembly, Mr. Thomas Kwagh-Kudi representing Makurdi North State Constituency and Jacob Orban of Katsina-Ala West State Constituency at the weekend defected with thousands of their supporters to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Makurdi lawmaker was received into the PDP at the Saint Mary’s Primary School playground, North Bank Makurdi, by Governor Samuel Ortom, the National Asembly member representing Benue North East District, Senator Gabriel Suswam, Speaker of the State Assembly and PDP governorship candidate, Titus Uba, National and State Assembly members among others.

4. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has condemned in strong terms, the gruesome murder of a Benue State -born legal practitioner based in Gusau, Zamfara State by terrorists.

Barrister Benedict Torngee Azza, a legal practioner who is based in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital before he was killed by persons suspected to be terrorists in his house hails from Yelewata, Guma local government area of Benue State.

5. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue on Saturday accused Gov. Samuel Ortom of mismanaging local governments in the state.

“Ortom is mismanaging local government councils and has adopted measures aimed at totally annihilating the local government system,’’ APC’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Dan-Morgan Ihomun told a news conference in Makurdi.

6. A former controller general of prisons, Mr. Abraham Akpe has charged professionals in Tivland to bring their wealth of experience and connections to bear on the development of Benue state.
Akpe who spoke in Abuja at the annual general meeting of the OnTiv Professionals Association, extended his call on Tiv professionals in diaspora to highlights of the meeting was the honour conferred on prominent sons and daughters of the Tiv nation.

7. The Executive Secretary of Benue State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Dr. Emmanuel Shior has appealed to the United Nations, the international community, Civil Society Organisations as well as the Federal Government to pay attention to the humanitarian crisis in Benue and the dire condition of the over two million Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in the state.
