1. Benue State government has slashed all land fees by 50 per cent to encourage residents to regularise their land titles.
Bernard Unenge, Benue Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals, made this known in an interview in Makurdi on Sunday.
2. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has dismissed public speculations about the health Engr Titus Uba, the candidate for governor in the 2023 elections.
Reports have it that Engr Titus Uba is down with an undisclosed ailment but the party said he has only travelled on non-medical vacation.
3. A group known as the Benue Coalition for Democracy (BCD) has said that it received with shock and suspicion, the news of the sudden postponement of the Federal High Court’s judgment in the case instituted by former Minister of Justice, Michael Aondoakaa (SAN), challenging the APC governorship primary election in Benue State, which produced Fr Hyacinth Alia as the party’s candidate.
According to the group, as a pro-democracy organisation in pursuit of justice in all electoral matters across all political parties, it viewed the postponement of the judgment as a calculated attempt by the APC to buy more time to mount pressure on the judiciary to circumvent justice in their favour.
4. About 200 people comprising aged men and women, people with disability, pregnant women, and vulnerable children have benefitted from a Free Medical Outreach, carried out by a Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) known as Hyacinth Alia Support Foundation.
The program which commenced on Saturday in Naka, headquarters of Gwer West local government area of Benue state is part of the humanitarian service embarked upon by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Benue state, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia.
5. The Benue Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals, Mr Bernard Unenge, says the state government is committed to working with investors seeking to explore the vast mineral resources in the state.
The commissioner said on Sunday in Makurdi that Benue has almost all mineral resources found anywhere in the country.

Despite moves to reconcile the Peoples Democratic presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and five rebel governors who were elected on the platform of the PDP, led by Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, the Benue State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, in Saturday remained unrelenting in his opposition to the presidential aspiration of the former vice president, insisting that only a southerner should succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium during the inauguration of the PDP state-level campaign in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, Ortom, who is one of the governors in Wike’s camp, insisted that only a southerner should succeed President Buhari in 2023.
