1. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has said he will not stop criticising President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration until killings stop in the state.
Speaking on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at the Independence Day Interdenominational Church service organised by the state government in conjunction with the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, in Makurdi, Ortom said he holds nothing personal against Buhari.
2. Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue on Saturday charged National Assembly members of the state’s extraction to revisit a contract awarded by deceased President Umaru Yar’Adua for the dredging of River Benue but was not executed.
He charged the lawmakers to join forces and make a case for Benue, lamenting that the contractor had not done anything since the contract was awarded.
3. The member representing Gwer East/Gwer West federal constituency of Benue State, Hon. Mark Gbillah has insisted that he’s running for Benue North-West Senatorial District elections on the platform of the Labour Party (LP).
He said that the publication of his name on both Labour Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was an error made without his consent by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
4. The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Nathaniel Ikyur, has dismissed the allegation that the governor and his aides are frustrating the political ambition of the lawmaker representing Gwer-East/Gwer-West Federal Constituency, Mark Gbillah, in the 2023 general election.
Ikyur, in a statement issued on Sunday, stated that Gbillah cannot be a threat to the Peoples Democratic Party in Benue.
5. The member representing Gwer West/Gwer East Federal Constituency of Benue State, Mark Gbillah has accused Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of lacking the confidence to win popular votes in the forthcoming general elections.
Gbillah who spoke at a news conference on Friday alleged that the PDP in the state was filing plethora of suits against other political parties in the state with a view to getting their candidates disqualified so as to stand alone in the elections.
6. Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has dismissed the embattled House of Representatives Member from Gwer/Gwer West Federal Constituency from the state, Mark Gbillah, as a small fry who has no capacity to threaten the electoral victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or the Governor in the forthcoming elections in the state.
Gbillah had at a press conference in Abuja last week, erroneously accused Governor Ortom of standing in his way ahead of the 2023 elections.

The Otukpo township road has become a nightmare to not only motorists but residents of the town due to its bad state.
