1. No fewer than 18 persons including children have been killed by suspected Fulani armed herdsmen who invaded four communities in the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
The herdsmen also injured many villagers during the attack on the communities on Thursday.
2. The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in next year’s general elections, Rt Hon Titus Uba in company of his Deputy, Sir John Ngbede and members of the 9th Benue Assembly on Thursday, November 3, 2022 paid condolence visit to the former President of the Senate, Sen. David Mark at his Abuja residence over the death of his son, Tunde Mark.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Engr. Uba noted that the entire Assembly was saddened by the news of the demise of Tunde who he said was already making significant impact in his chosen endeavour.
3. A Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court has ordered the detention of a former lecturer of the Benue State University, BSU, Dr. Mkor Aondona Donatus in police custody.
The Chief Magistrate, R.S Iorshe gave the order on Tuesday while ruling on a motion ex parte filed by the Commissioner of Police, Benue State.
4. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has charged newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service to avoid indulging in any form of financial impropriety in the discharge of their duties.
Governor Ortom gave the charge Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 during the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries held in the new Banquet Hall of the People’s House, Makurdi.
5. The monarch, Ishaku Ada Ali disclosed this at the Government House Jalingo, revealing that several of his subjects were killed in unprovoked attacks by Tiv militias
This will be the first official visit of the Aku Uka of Wukari to Taraba State Government House Jalingo after last month’s presentations of Staff of office to him and the Gara Donga.
