1. An All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in Benue state, Senator Barnabas Gemade have vowed to pursue the matter instituted against the governorship primary election of the party to a logical conclusion because it is a fight for justice.
Recall that Senator Gemade and some aspirants had individually approached the courts following the protests that greeted the process that produced the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in the state, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
2. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, who is also the Benue North-West Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has inaugurated his campaign team ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The governor appointed Hon. Mike Mku as the Director of his Senatorial Campaign Team.
3. The PRO of G-9, a factional group in the All Progressives Congress in Benue South Senatorial District, Akor Ikwuoche, Saturday, narrowly escaped death by whiskers after he was attacked by hoodlums.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that Ikwuoche was beaten, his car windshield shattered and was left in the pool of his blood before help came his way.
4. The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, condemns, in the strongest terms, the attempt on the life of a constituent, Akor Ikwuoche.
Senator Moro condemns the attack and says it’s barbaric, regrettable and abhorrent.
5. The crisis engulfing the Peoples Democratic Party seems not to be abating, as the national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, has said he is able to stop the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, from realising his senatorial ambition on the platform of the party.
Addressing the crowd that welcomed him home in Gboko on Friday, Senator Ayu who spoke in the Tiv dialect told his people that he had the power to stop any candidate under the party, particularly in the state to avenge all the attacks on him.
