1. Six suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Zonal Command.
The suspects were arrested on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Amichi Hotel in Orokam, Benue State.

2. The Nigerian Shippers’ Council has urged the business community in Benue state to take advantage of the export promotion drive of the Federal Government to access the international market with non-oil exportable goods and produce.

The Executive Secretary of the Council, Mr. Emmanuel Jime gave the charge Wednesday in Makurdi at a one day seminar organized by the Council for stakeholders with the theme, “Appropriate Packaging and Quality Assurance of Argo-Allied Products as a Panacea for Increased Export.”

3. World’s First Professor of Digital Economy, cerebral businessman and philanthropist, Archbishop Prof Sam Zuga on July 26, 2022, made history again when his foundation “Samzuga Foundation” visited two Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Markurdi, Benue State where food and other relief materials were distributed freely to the needy.
Bags of food items, grinding machines, cash and two cows at the two different IDP camps located at the Federal Housing Estate North Bank Makurdi and Daudu respectively, both in Benue State.

4. Lead counsel to the All Progressives Congress, (APC) governorship candidate in Benue State, Mamman Mike Usuman, SAN has expressed confidence that the suit at the Federal High Court in Makurdi challenging the emergence of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iornem Alia as the authentic party flag bearer of APC for the 2023 polls will not see the light of the day.

Speaking with newsmen after the Court proceedings, Usuman said the crux of the matter is the outcome of the primaries that took place for political parties and after substantial compliance with both the Electoral Act and Constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria as amended and guidelines of INEC, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia emerged as the preferred candidate for APC.

5. Protesters, yesterday, besieged the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja over the alleged substitution of 17 candidates of the Benue State House of Assembly that emerged from the recent primary election.

The aggrieved candidates threatened to drag the party to court to seek redress, “if the anomaly is not corrected.”
