1. At least one person has been reportedly killed as different support groups clash on Monday 7th November, 2022 at IBB Square Makurdi, venue of the Benue Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 flag-off.

An eyewitness disclosed that the fight started after a heated argument about space in a canopy.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Benue State Monday, November 7th, 2022 flagged-off its campaigns for the 2023 general elections in the state.

2. Benue State Governor and leader of the party in the state, Samuel Ortom led his colleagues, Governors Nyesom Wike, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu and Seyi Makinde of Rivers, Enugu, Abia and Oyo states respectively to kick off the campaign for the election.

3. Egba community in Agatu local government area of Benue state, at the early hours of Monday 7th November 2022 woke to sporadic shootings and pursuit by suspected operatives of the Nigerian Army.

According to reliable sources from the community, the soldiers raided the community at about 6:00 am and took possession till about 11:00am before they left.

4. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, slammed the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, late Sunday, saying, “He should go to hell.”
The governor made the remarks while hosting colleagues from Rivers, Oyo, Abia, and Enugu States to a dinner party at the government house in Makurdi.
5. The founder of Atiku 100 percent, Mr. Tanimu Kazeem has said that the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP does not need the governor of Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom to win Benue State come 2023.
Kazeem who was reacting to Ortom’s statement when he said “to hell with Atiku” noted that Atiku will win in Benue state without Ortom support.
6. Five aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) known as G5, on Monday, stormed Makurdi, the Benue State capital, to flag off the PDP 2023 campaign and inaugurate projects in the State
They included the host, Governor Samuel Ortom alongside Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).
7. National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu sent the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Umar Damagun to represent him at the flag off of the party’s Benue State re-election campaign in Makurdi.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom sent a formal invitation to the National Chairman last week.
