  1. Governor Alia Clears Site for New Governor’s Office
    Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has initiated plans for a new, internationally standard Governor’s office as part of his strategy to enhance state infrastructure, boost investment, and drive economic growth.

  2. Approval of Signage and Advertising Agency
    The Benue State Executive Council has greenlit the establishment of the Benue State Signage and Advertising Agency, tasked with managing outdoor advertising while ensuring safety, aesthetics, and environmental standards across the state.

  3. Suspension Lifted on State Attorney General
    Governor Alia has lifted the suspension of the State Attorney General, Barr. Fidelis Bemsen Mnyim, following a State Executive Council meeting on November 11, 2024. The Attorney General had been suspended for unilaterally involving the state in a suit against the Federal Government over the EFCC.

  4. Crisis in Benue APC
    Disputes within Benue State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) have emerged between Governor Hyacinth Alia and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, following last year’s election. The division has created tension among supporters in the state.

  5. PDP Condemns Attack on Church Congregation
    The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) condemned an attack by hoodlums on a congregation at NKST Church in Naka, calling it a violation of citizens’ right to worship. PDP Publicity Secretary Tim Nyor criticized the incident as an affront to democracy.

    The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) has arraigned John Dyegh, a former House of Representatives member, on money laundering charges. He appeared before the Federal High Court in Makurdi on five counts.

    Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide, a Tiv socio-cultural group, has urged Governor Alia to consider an amnesty programme for repentant bandits, with the aim of fostering peace in the state. This call was made by the group’s President-General, Iorbee Ihagh.

  8. N30.2 Billion Approved for Rural Road Construction
    The Benue State Executive Council has allocated N30.2 billion for the construction of five rural roads, covering 60% of the total funding with local governments providing the remaining 40%. This project is expected to improve connectivity across the three senatorial zones.
