The immediate-past Deputy Governor of Benue state, Chief Stephen Lawani, OFR, has been appointed as the patron of Idoma Daughters and Wives Association (IDWA).
The appointment which took place during a courtesy visit of the strategic leadership of the association, led by its President, Dr Sarah Ogadure and BoT chairperson, Mrs Josephine Bongus Ikwue, to Chief Stephen Lawani, in his Abuja residence, is another subtle stamp of recognition on Chief Lawani’s dedication and commitment to the development of every part of Benue state, including Zone C.
The spokesperson of IDWA, who spoke for the association, described the Ochagwu K’Idoma as a worthy son, who has never failed to provide leadership whenever necessary. She reiterated that the choice of Chief Stephen Lawani is obvious, given his many lofty contributions to the development of Idoma nation.
“There is no doubt that with your support and guidance, IDWA will be emboldened to actualize her dreams of contributing immeasurably to the growth of our land,” IDWA spokesperson added.
The Ochagwu K’Idoma in his response, expressed his delight with the honour, and commended IDWA for their passionate inclination to the development of Benue South. He equally praised IDWA for their very matching outfit, declaring that their appearance will serve as the beginning of the end to the identity problem the Idoma nation has faced over the years. He urged them to sustain the identity and continue to serve as the rallying point for the cultural renaissance in Idoma nation.
Finally, He assured IDWA of his readiness to partner with them in the development of Zone C. “Please my home is always open to you anytime the need arises. Be assured that i will stand by you in your quest to lobbying for and actualizing a better developed Idoma land. Please count on my support always”, the Ochagwu K’Idoma concluded his remark.
