On Saturday, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) conducted a clearance operation to remove roadside traders from Oyingbo market.

This action was carried out subsequent to the market being sealed.

Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, emphasized that despite the market closure, some traders continued engaging in roadside trading activities, violating environmental regulations.

He stated, “Preserving our city’s environmental health is non-negotiable. All markets within the state must strictly adhere to environmental laws.

Failure to comply will result in market closures, and they will only reopen once the necessary conditions are met. Roadside trading near sealed business premises will not be tolerated.”
