Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has labeled her decision to divorce her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, as the best choice she’s ever made.
Dikeh shared her perspective while responding to a fellow single mother who reached out to her on Instagram. The mother was seeking advice on coping with her own situation after her partner left her and their child.
In her response, Dikeh clarified that it was she who decided to end the marriage for the benefit of herself and her son, rather than being left by Churchill. She stated, “I was the one who chose to walk away from my marriage, not the other way around. I needed to escape a challenging situation for the sake of my child and myself. It was the best decision I ever made.”
She encouraged the woman to believe in her potential to achieve her aspirations by committing to personal growth and investing in herself.
On Instagram, Dikeh shared a message to single mothers, saying, “I don’t have a manual for this journey, and I’m not an expert. My greatest teacher has been love. I let God guide me, and that has been enough. Draw strength from God and keep your family matters private.”
Daily Post reminds readers that Dikeh’s marriage to Churchill ended in 2017 amid allegations of infidelity and domestic violence. The marriage resulted in one child, a son.
Despite their separation, Tonto and Churchill continue to engage in public disputes, with Dikeh accusing him of being an absent father, while Churchill contends that Dikeh has denied him access to their child.
