Leeds 3-0 Chelsea: He can say whatever he likes – Jesse Marsch replies Tuchel

Following Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Leeds United, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insisted that Leeds win wasn’t down to their pressing game, but rather Chelsea’s mistakes.

“It is nothing to do with pressing, nothing to do with running less kilometres and nothing to do with the style of Leeds,” Tuchel said at full-time.

“It is more our fault than anybody else’s credit,” he added.

Leeds United boss however insisted that Tuchel can say whatever he likes, but maintained that his team’s style upset Chelsea.

“He can have his opinion,” said the Leeds manager.

“I think our way of playing dictated the match almost entirely, limited them, made them make mistakes.”

Marsch also told Sky Sports: “It was a complete performance.

“We had a few different plans on what they [Chelsea] would look like and the guys did a good job of adjusting. We wanted to play with aggression but controlled and we accomplished our goals.

“From the first moment I came here I saw this was a special team. This [win] should mean hunger for us to want to improve.

“Our goal is never to be out-run or out-worked but also to add to not being out-fought and if we can add these things together we can build something. You can see it coming together almost right before our eyes. It’s a good sign but there’s still so much more to do.”
