Let God kill me if I become a professional pastor – Jerry Eze declares

Pastor Jerry Eze, the founder of Streams of Joy International and the widely followed New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), has strongly emphasized that his work is driven by divine purpose rather than personal ambition or professional status.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Eze made it clear that he does not consider himself a “professional pastor,” insisting that he would rather die than turn his ministry into a self-serving venture.

“I’m not a professional pastor. The day I become a professional pastor, let God kill me,” he said. “The day it ceases to be about God and becomes about Jerry, let God shut everything down.”

Eze, whose digital prayer movement NSPPD gained global traction during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, noted that his rise to prominence was never part of a personal plan. Instead, he attributes every step of his journey to God’s guidance and grace.

“This is not something you plan—that at some point you’re going to be big and the world will hear of you,” he explained. “If He brought me this far, then I’m trusting Him to help me every step of the way. I want people to feel and know the power of God through what I’m doing.”

Firm in his convictions, Pastor Eze said he knows his divine assignment and is fully consumed by it. He added that his greatest motivation comes from the joy and testimonies of those impacted by his ministry.

“I don’t care what anybody thinks or feels, but the encouragement is when I see those smiles and hear those testimonies,” he said.

Pastor Eze’s declaration reaffirms his commitment to maintaining a ministry centered solely on God, rejecting any form of commercialization or ego-driven leadership.
