Letoha Grand: Come let’s eat together

It is not every business entity that has a reputation that precedes it. Only a few. And Letoha Grand is one of the few. What people say about it: It is a place with a culinary experience that connects diners to their roots and their local cookery.

The restaurant, located at Suite Ext. A33, inside Efab Mall, Off Gimbiya Street, Area 11, Garki, Abuja, is well known to connoisseurs of gourmet food and those who do not shy away from the luxury of fine dining.

 

What makes it tick? In a city teeming with leisure spots, upscale restaurants and plush eateries, Letoha is the place where fine dining is elevated to a fine art.

How so? Indeed, it has an artsy side: its ambiance, defined by an interior decor of muted color and predominant art motifs and pieces curated by Apeh Harrison Iwodi (CEO of Letoha), wraps diners in a homely feel such that once visited, Letoha Grand becomes inviting and irresistible.

However, it is at the business of eating that Letoha Grand charms diners most. Its menu is enriched with delicacies inspired by Southern Benue basin recipes and cuisines from the Niger area.

Since it opened its doors, guests have been relishing its signature dish of Aka Okoho served with Umu, chilled local beverage. Beside the standard dishes, its menu bursts with offerings from native kitchen: pounded yam, ijangada, Okoho, Egusi, bitter leaf, Oha, Afang, Banga, vegetable, Amala, Eba, golden yam, white beans and Okpehe rice, to mention a few.

Tasty food. Balmy ambience. Charming memory. Letoha Grand is a great place to bring visitors touring Abuja. Outside, its terrace offers quiet dining, almost al fresco-like; inside, in-city vibes combine with contemporary art to give diners an exquisite experience. Folks from the southern Benue Valley, will find fun and nostalgia in the Okoho challenge, sponsored by the management of the restaurant. And City-slickers, too, will have words of compliments for the excellent, flawless service rendered by the staff.

Famous callers at the restaurant include Gospel music star Chris Morgans, Barr. Paul Edeh, Owie Abutu, Enenche Comedian, Noella, Naomi De Diva, Mad Lion and a battalion of other Benue folk. On one of their visits, Chris Morgan and his wife, Eunice, after savouring Okoho soup and pounded yam, could not hide their ecstasies.

The Abba Father singer reportedly avowed: “This is a place to be. We must confess, you will keep asking for more until there’s no more space in your tummy.”
