Barcelona are set to sign Robert Lewandowski before the end of the weekend after finally reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich.
Despite Bayern’s adamant refusal to let Lewandowski leave, the two European powerhouses have been in negotiations for the Poland striker for weeks, and a deal with Barca for a total of about €50 million has been reached.
The two clubs have successfully concluded negotiations and the Blaugrana are eager to complete the transfer by Monday.
In the event that Barcelona had been unable to come up with the necessary funds to pressure Bayern, Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi had kept parties like Chelsea and Manchester United notified. Lewandowski, however, has consistently preferred a move to Camp Nou and is now likely to receive his wish.
Lewandowski is set to become Barcelona’s fourth official incoming of the window after Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen joined on free transfers and Ousmane Dembele renewed his contract with the team. Barcelona completed the signing of Raphinha from Leeds United on Friday.
