Live updates of End SARS protest across Nigeria

As the ongoing protest across Nigeria over the excesses of the Nigeria Police persists, the movements seem to have been hijacked by unknown forces.

The protest, which started over a week ago on a peaceful ground has turned violent as many people have been killed, others injured and several valuables missing.

Today, IDOMA VOICE takes a walk across the 36 states of the federal and the FCT to bring you live update.

ABIA:

Abia state youths added their voices to the ongoing campaign on Monday. The youths have taken over the streets of Umuahia, the Abia State capital demonstrating at the moment. Some also gathered at Abia Tower. 

ADAMAWA

In Adamawa, tanker drivers are protesting police brutality. Angry tanker drivers have blocked the Yola-Jalingo Road to protest police brutality against a tanker driver. The attack by police on the tanker driver allegedly occurred near Mayo Belwa town in Adamawa State. | 

AKWA IBOM

There are reports of attacks on #UyoProtest demonstrators . SA to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Youth Mobilization, Iwa Udofia, was accused invading  protest ground with thugs, who began a brief spell of robbery & molesting peaceful protesters. The police stood by and watched!

ANAMBRA

In the ancient of Awka, popular entertainers, Yul Edochie, Flavour are currently leading the march against police brutality.

The protesters are calling on the government to show them the whereabouts of number one police abuse suspect, James Nwafor.

BAUCHI

In Bauchi, the Bauchi State capital, the youths from this state are not left out. They are crying out over the activities of police in Nigeria.

However, some of the youths are calling for the resignation of President Buhari.

They are marching towards the government house at the time of this report.

BAYELSA

Bayelsa State, the home state of immediate past president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan is not left out of the ongoing demonstrations.

The youths, who took over major streets in Yenagoa, the state capita, were seen with various placards -chanting anti-government songs.

BENUE

There was an impressive turnout of youths on Monday in Makurdi, the Benue State capital in the ongoing protest against police brutality.

The Benue youths, who were seen along major highway in the state were seen singing solidarity songs while brandishing placards with inscriptions such as  #BenueProtest #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality.

BORNO

In Borno State, there are no protesters on the streets. This might not be unconnected with the security situation in the state.

A resident had warned on Twitter, “Anyone coming out to protest in Borno is risking his/her own life, Boko Haram can easily massacre the protesters.”

CROSS RIVER

In Cross River State, the heat of the protest is on, IDOMA VOICE can confirm.

The only noticeable protesters in the city of Calabar at the moment are lawyers.

Lawyers in Cross River State are protesting over vacuum of substantive Chief Judge the state.

They are currently on the street singing solidarity songs.

DELTA

Recall that problem broke out in the nation after a video of some police dragging a suspected internet fraudster on the express surfaced on social media.

This triggered a nationwide tsunami as many thronged the street to call for an end to police brutality.

Meanwhile, schools in Delta State have called parents to come pick up their kids because of civil unrest.

However, during the protest in Sapele, a young boy also came to protest and climb a trailer, he fell from the trailer and got smashed to death.

EDO

The protest broke out in Delta but matured in Edo State.

So far, Edo State is the worst hit of the ongoing protest.

Protesters have blocked major roads in the state, making sumptuous meals.

However, the protest took another turn on Monday when some thugs invade two prison yards and freed inmates.

So far, several lives have gone and many injured in the state. The chant of #WeMove originated from this ancient city
