Lobi Stars Board, Management introduces new coach Ogunbote to players, supporters

Supporters of Lobi Stars Fc turned out in their hundreds this morning at the Aper Aku Stadium to catch a glimpse of the club’s new Technical Adviser, coach Gbenga Ogunbote, who was unveiled by the club’s Board and Management staff.

In his remarks, coach Ogunbote said “it is a privilege to be introduced to players, management staff and supporters of this great club by the vice chairman”. “I sincerely give glory to God who made it possible for me to be here today” “I do not have much to say, but my interpretation of a team is the coming together of everyone to achieve the set goals of the club”. “There won’t be any segregation or victimization of anyone. We must be fully committed from the board, management and players”.

He further said that he has been sort after by this club before when Dominic Iorfa was here, but God’s time is the best that is why he is here today and hopes to bring smiles to the Benue soccer loving fans.

Earlier, a minute silence was held in honor of the club’s late coach Solomon Ogbide who passed on before the end of the season. The club’s vice chairman Mr Mike Idoko, who spoke on behalf of the Board and Management staff, before the introduction of the new coach, thanked everyone for their contributions to last seasons performance and charged all to improve on their performances and put whatever differences that were in the past for the good of the team.

He thanked coach Gbenga Ogunbote for accepting his new challenge in Benue and said ‘i have no doubt in your abilities to bring trophies to Lobi Stars Fc and taking us back to competing at the continental level”.

The team’s skipper Moses Bunde, who spoke for the players, pledged their support for the new coach and said they couldn’t wait to start working with him.
